Financial Aid Planners & Education Loan Tools

Archimedes’ financial aid planners and education loan tools help families and consumers make decisions relating to education financing, including borrowing and budgeting strategies, financial aid and college selection. All of these tools can be customized to identify the benefits of various best-fit education financing vehicles and in other ways to meet your organization’s needs.

Financial Aid Planner (FAP)

Estimates the expected family contribution (EFC), offers a preliminary walk-through of the college financial aid application process, and puts the EFC into context by comparing it to the cost of attendance at three colleges of the user's choice.  FAP contains a college cost database lookup, featuring approximately 3,800 Title IV colleges and a table of college cost averages.

Expected Family Contribution Calculator

Estimates the family's Expected Family Contribution (EFC), cost of attendance, and financial need. Illustrates how the financial aid process works and reveals the family’s potential financial responsibility well before they submit their FAFSA form.

Loan Repayment Calculator

Estimates the size of the users' monthly loan payments for various loan types, based on a specified loan balance, interest rate, and loan term. The tool can be customized to include different loan types and to   accommodate the loan terms that correspond to those loans. The tool is based on a level repayment schedule, but can be customized to include different repayment programs (graduated and income sensitive, for example).

College Loan Consolidation Calculator

Estimates the user's monthly payments, total interest, and total payments under the consolidation loan's standard payment plan, illustrating how the monthly payments and overall cost of the loan will improve if the user takes advantage of the borrower benefit/incentive program. A sample borrower benefit/incentive program is illustrated in the demonstration. The Loan Consolidation Calculator can be customized in a variety of ways, including performing calculations for extended or graduated payment plans, and income-sensitive payment plans.

Loan Affordability Calculator

Estimates how much the user can reasonably afford to borrow for their child’s education, given current income and debt obligations.

Loan Payment Calculator

Estimates how much the user may be able to borrow for their child's college education, given a specified affordable monthly payment.

Loan Comparison Calculator

Helps users compare the cost of borrowing from different sources. The tool can be customized to feature borrowing sources that your company would like to include.

College Choice Analysis

CCA draws information form a database of approximately 2,000 accredited colleges and universities
