This payment plan allows you to purchase tuition units at any frequency you choose, without committing to a specific number of units to purchase after purchasing the minimum one unit required to establish an account. Units are purchased at the unit cost in effect at the time payment is received. Unit costs for each unit type will be set each year. Therefore, the calculator prices the Pay-As-You-Go option at today's price, but the actual price will change as the years progress.
This Year's Enrollment Period
You can enroll anytime between September 1, 2010 and February 28, 2011 for this year's enrollment
period and pricing. The enrollment period extends through July 31, 2011 for children under one year of age.
Sample tuition unit purchase values:
Type I
100 Type I Tuition Units equate to 30 semester credit hours, or approximately one academic year, of undergraduate
tuition and required fees at all eligible Texas public colleges and universities, including the most expensive.
Type II
100 Type II Tuition Units equate to 30 semester credit hours, or approximately one academic year, of undergraduate
tuition and required fees equal to the weighted average tuition and required fees of all eligible Texas public
four-year colleges and universities.
Type III
100 Type III Tuition Units equate to 30 semester credit hours, or approximately one academic year, of undergraduate
tuition and required fees equal to the weighted average tuition and required fees of all eligible Texas two-year
colleges.
