New Tool Helps Clients Or Advisors To Project Expenses Without Having To Examine Prospectuses
Waltham, MA - January 3, 2005 - Archimedes Systems has announced the launch of its Mutual Fund Expense Analyzer, a web-based tool that provides financial service companies with a highly visible means of demonstrating their commitment to meeting and exceeding the new compliance and disclosure standards.
Unlike other expense analysis tools, the Archimedes Mutual Fund Expense Analyzer can be pre-populated with all of the expense information (including breakpoints and rights of accumulation) for a firm's own funds. As a result, clients and advisors have only to select a fund name from a drop down menu. They do not have to read a prospectus or otherwise research fees and expenses, which is where many observers feel the disclosure process often breaks down.
After selecting a fund, users enter just five additional items: Share class, expected holding period, rate of return, investment amount, and total investments at the firm qualifying for the breakpoint.
The Analyzer then presents the projected value at the end of the period, including a breakdown of all fees and expenses. In addition, the Analyzer computes the reduction in the annual rate of return due to fees and expenses.
The Mutual Fund Expense Analyzer shows the impact of fees and expenses for a single fund, but can also be configured to compare:
Implementation is simple. All a firm has to do is to install a single link on their site. The tool can be customized for a firm's look and feel, and all hosting is provided by Archimedes Systems.
